Leafs Nation Shouldn't Put Too Much Pressure On Frat Pack Line
04 / 05 / 2010
With the dubbing of the "Frat Pack", the Toronto Maples Leafs new line of Tyler Bozak, Viktor Stalberg and Christian Hanson has hit the big time with their success over the past few weeks. But Leafs Nation should be careful not to put too much pressure on the young Leafs players.
The Leafs are the youngest team in the NHL, and need to give the players the time that they need to develop.
With the emergence of Nikolai Kulemin and Tyler Bozak as legitimate top line players, there will certainly be a lot of pressure on them come training camp in the fall. Toronto media and fans seem to have a knack of pushing too hard too soon, and ruining a player before they have a chance to develop. Kulemin will also be looking for a new contract this summer, and if he gets a big raise Leafs Nation will be expecting a high return... Just ask Bryan McCabe how that turning out for him.
I think that Leafs fans have to just accept the fact that next season probably will be another building year, and not to put too much pressure on the younger players. This is going to be a long journey, and with it looking like it's on the right path, let's not take the ship off course.
