Dave Nonis Expected To Sign Extension With The Maple Leafs

Darren Dreger of TSN is reporting that Dave Nonis is close to signing an extension with the Toronto Maple Leafs

Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik's search for a chief executive officer continues, but it appears that the list will not have Nonis on it.

Sources close to the Toronto Maple Leafs tell TSN that Dave Nonis, the Leafs vice president of hockey operations has pulled himself out of the running for the Lightning job.

It is expected that Toronto will soon announce Nonis has agreed to an extension with the Maple Leafs that will keep him with the Buds through the 2011-2012 season.
